TFC is a joint youth tutoring program between San Diego Asian Americans For Equality (SDAAFE) and Solution for Change (SFC) aiming to help the academic performance of kids from previously homeless families that are currently admitted to the SFC program.

Seven students from local high schools were named “Tutor of the Year” including Zeyi Austin Li, Sarah Wang, Sophia Fang, Angela Fang, Jason Ye, Kate Wang, and Leo Liang. SDAAFE became a certifying organization to give out PVSA to volunteers in 2019. This is the first year SDAAFE presented PVSA to her young volunteers. The President’s Volunteer Service Awards are to “recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity” and to “honor individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.” SDAAFE actively encourages and supports the youth from Asian communities to serve their communities and the society through variety of volunteer services.
