San Diego Asian Americans for Equality (SDAAFE) Foundation Endorse Joe Leventhal
(San Diego, CA) – San Diego Asian Americans for Equality (SDAAFE) Foundation today announced its endorsement of Joe Leventhal for San Diego City Council.
“Joe Leventhal is a hardworking and thoughtful leader who appreciates the diverse demographics in the region,” said Steve Hsieh, SDAAFE President. “I am confident that he will work to improve the quality of life for the thousands of Asian Americans living in San Diego. SDAAFE is proud to endorse Joe’s bid for City Council, District 5.”
SDAAFE is a non-partisan political organization promoting active involvement in public affairs and civic engagement among San Diego Asian Americans. It is the only non-partisan Asian American Political Action Committee in San Diego County. The organization has over 1,700 members.
“SDAAFE recognizes that bold leadership is needed to get results for both the San Diego Asian American community and our city at large,” said Joe Leventhal. “I am honored to have the support and endorsement of SDAAFE.”
Joe has already been endorsed by San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, San Diego County Board of Education Chair Mark Powell, homeless advocate Father Joe Carroll, retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, among others.
Once elected to the San Diego City Council, Joe will prioritize solutions to reduce homelessness, enhance public safety, and expand road repairs. Joe believes that bold, collaborative leadership, as he’s demonstrated throughout his life, is the best way to approach San Diego’s persistent challenges.
The 5th District includes the communities of Black Mountain Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Miramar Ranch North, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Encantada, Rancho Peñasquitos, Sabre Springs, San Pasqual, Scripps Miramar Ranch and Torrey Highlands. The District’s registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats. Approximately 13% of registered voters in District 5 are Asian Americans.
